Transcriber's Notes:
(1) All passengers listed "U. States", so the column is omitted.
(2) None died on the voyage, so the column is omitted.
*12 Looks most like C, obliterated by ink drop.
*33 Looks most like J, could be F.
*44 Parent(s) of the child born on board are not indicated,
and no name is listed for him.

+34 This man, J Schmadebuch is believed to be the same as the
son, Joachim Hinrich in the family of Schmarbecks listed in
the Heiligenhagen 1819 census with # 141. He matches by name, age, and occupation.

His wife then is known from church books to be Catharina Sophia
geb. Range and is also listed in the 1819 census of Heiligenhagen.
No record of them has yet been found in the 1850 US Census or later.

The son John is possibly the man who is listed as John Schmalbeck in the
1860 US census in Buffalo, NY.

It is believed that the son Charles, who is exactly the right name and
age, is the Charles Schmalbeck who marries Maria Sophie Stoll in Illinois.
He would then be the patriarch of another main branch of descendants named
Schmalbeck living in the US today.

An account of Bruno Schmadebeck states that he met a George Schmalbeck
in Des Plaines, Ill., a man known to descend from Charles Schmalbeck and
Maria Sophie Stoll (who is later known as "Grandma Wolf"). George stated
to Bruno that his family also used the surname "Schmaddebeck" in Mecklenburg,
which would link back to this ship manifest.

This Schmadebuch family matches the Heiligenhagen church books by both names
and ages, with the exception of the elder son, J. H. age 15. The father had
a son with another, who was named Hans Hinrich born in 1828, who could be
the son, J. H. with an age error. The son Charles was baptized Christian
    Joachim, but matches by age.
